Former absolute world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson responded to the words of Fedor Emelianenko, who announced his desire to have a boxing match with him in August. Tyson’s words were quoted “Sports Express”.
“There will be no fight with Fedor. “He is one of my idols,” said Tyson.
On February 5 this year, Fedor Emelianenko lost to American Ryan Bader at the Bellator 290 tournament and the fight ended in the first round. The referee stopped the match in the third minute. After the fight, Emelianenko announced his retirement.
In January 2019, athletes already met in the octagon. Then the US representative won in the 35th second. In total, the Russian athlete had 48 fights in MMA, of which he had 40 wins and seven defeats.
On August 19, 2023, Emelianenko resigned as president of the Russian MMA Union. He has been president of the organization since 2022.
