National Hockey League (NHL) Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto was suspended for 41 games for violating the league’s gambling rules. This was reported by press service NHL.

The NHL reportedly did not discover that the player had bet on league games. It is unknown which rule Pinto violated. According to league rules, players cannot bet on league matches, but they are allowed to bet on other sports. This is the first betting-related suspension in National Hockey League history.

Pinto was selected 32nd overall by Ottawa in 2019. He has been playing for the Canadian club since 2021. Last regular season, Pinto scored 20 goals and made 15 assists in 82 games.
