Voronezh “Fakel” on its website launched Official statement of the club regarding the situation of defender Igor Kalinin, who was suspended from training with the team after the match in the last round of the Russian championship.
“Today, a general team meeting was held under the leadership of the club’s general manager. The player apologized to the entire team and coaching staff for his emotional and unprofessional behavior. In the statement, it was stated that the general decision of the team and coaches was to return Igor Kalinin to the training process and limit the penalties in accordance with the player’s contract.
Kalinin was suspended from training with the main team for refusing to be a substitute in the match against Orenburg in the 12th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL).
Kalinin moved to Rostov from Dynamo Moscow in 2021. Since 2022, Fakel has been playing on loan at Voronezh.
In the current RPL season, Kalinin appeared in two matches without scoring a goal. The match against Orenburg ended with Fakel winning with a score of 2:1. Alshin and Motspan scored.
