UEFA cancels matches in Israel

Union of European Football Association (UEFA) matches will not be played in Israel until further notice. This was reported by press service organizations.

“After a comprehensive assessment of the current security situation across Israel, the UEFA executive board has decided that matches in UEFA tournaments will not be played in Israel until further notice,” the statement said.

The Israeli Football Federation, as well as Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa, are required to offer alternative venues outside the country for their home matches as long as the decision remains in force.

UEFA also announced that the Europa League “Villarreal” – “Maccabi” Haifa group stage third round match was postponed from 26 October to 6 December, and the Conference League group stage third round match was postponed from 26 October to 6 December. “Maccabi Tel Aviv” – “Zorya” postponed from October 26 to November 25.
