Valery Karpin, head coach of the Russian national football team, said that he was satisfied with the players’ attitude towards the friendly match against Cameroon. His words are quoted “Championship”.
“Was our game against Cameroon the best? Yes, I share this opinion. Not everything is clear, but many moments pleased me. Both attitude and intensity. I was pleased that the team maintained this intensity, rhythm and tempo for 90 minutes against Cameroon. For example, this did not happen in Iran. There were sections with Qatar. The game with Cameroon was more complete throughout the 90 minutes. I am completely driven by the game,” Karpin said.
On October 12, the Russian team beat Cameroon with a score of 1:0. CSKA’s Fedor Chalov scored the only goal.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations in the spring of 2022. Under Karpin’s leadership, the national team played nine friendly matches during the isolation period.
