Venezuela hosted Chile at the Monumental Stadium in Maturín, for the fourth date of the South American qualifiers towards the 2026 World Cup in North America. After the historic draw they achieved in Brazil, Vinotinto tried to get stronger at home against Roja who had just achieved his first victory in the qualifier and wanted to cement himself at the table.
Both teams came into the game with four points out of a possible nine and knew they would be direct rivals in the battle for qualification, so this afternoon’s game could be very important towards the end of the qualifiers.
After ninety minutes, the match ended with 3-0 win for Vinotinto, Where Yeferson Soteldo the shortcomings exposed Chili, scoring a goal, with two assists, was the key to a big win at the Monumental de Maturín.
