Real Madrid legend Benzema accused of links to terrorist organization

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin told CNews that former Real Madrid football player and now Saudi Al-Ittihad player Karim Benzema is linked to the terrorist organization Muslim Brotherhood (an organization banned in Russia).

After the Israeli bombing, Benzema published a post on his social networks in which he supported the people of Gaza.

“We all know that Mr. Karim Benzema has notorious ties to the Muslim Brotherhood,” Darmanen said.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalated on October 7 following an attack by the Palestinian Hamas movement.

On 6 June, Benzema left Real Madrid and signed with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. The agreement is valid until 2026. Last season, Benzema played in 23 matches in the Spanish Championship, scoring 18 goals and making 3 assists. The Madrid club finished second in the national championship and won the Spanish Cup. In 2022, Benzema won the Ballon d’Or.

Benzema played seven matches in the Saudi Arabian Championship and scored three goals.
