“The government has advised us that the best and most sustainable option to consider is to abandon the construction of the bobsled center in Cortina and move the competition to an existing site. As a result, the organizing committee needs to find another location outside Italy,” said Malago.
At the meeting of the IOC Executive Committee on March 28, it was proposed to allow the Russians to maintain neutral status if their athletes do not take an active part in supporting military operations. Athletes representing law enforcement agencies and armed forces will not be allowed to compete.
