Former goalkeeper of the Russian national football team Ruslan Nigmatullin said that the goalkeeper of Roma “Lazio” Ivan Provedel refused to play for the Russian national team because of the big competition Metatations.
“Ivan clearly understands that he will not be able to surpass the competition in the Russian national team. Where can Safonov beat Lantratov and Pomazun? This is not sarcasm, it is a statement of fact,” Nigmatullin said.
Provedel was born in Italy. His mother is Russian and his father is Italian. The parents of the player’s mother, Elena Kalinina, lived on the same street and communicated with the famous Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin.
The goalkeeper has been playing for Lazio since 2022. He spent his entire career in Italy and played for clubs such as Chievo, Perugia, Empoli and Spezia.
