Former defender of NHL clubs says he does not believe Ovechkin

Francis Corrado, former defenseman for several National Hockey League (NHL) clubs, is on air TSN He claimed that Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin will not be able to score more than 50 goals in the new season.

According to him, Alexander is no longer fresh enough to give such a performance.

“Will Ovechkin score 50 goals? Fantastic! I bet Alexander will score 38 to 42 goals next NHL season. It will still be a great result for him. Ovi is the best striker of all time, but he won’t score 50 goals this season. This is not what Washington strives for as an organization. Corrado said they won’t be able to score many goals at even strength, but Ovechkin won’t flirt with the 50-goal mark.

Ovechkin, who played in 74 regular season games in the NHL last season, scored 42 goals and 33 assists. However, this did not help the Capitals reach the tournament’s play-offs. The Russian player currently has 822 goals scored in his NHL career. The difference with Wayne Gretzky is 72 goals. The Canadian has 894 goals and remains first among snipers in NHL history.
