Former advisor Fedun says Spartak has no desire to win

Franco Camozzi, the former advisor of Spartak Moscow’s former owner Leonid Fedun, said that the red-whites can win the match against the capital CSKA in the 11th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) if there is enough desire. His words guide the way Sports24.

“Spartak can win the derby if they want. Abascal’s team has the potential to win, but they can only lose to themselves. They can beat anyone in the RPL. There is no doubt about the talent of the players but there is a lack of sufficient desire. I think CSKA will have incredible motivation, so victory is very likely,” said Camozzi.

After ten rounds of the Russian Championship, Spartak is in sixth place with 16 points. CSKA, with the same points, ranks eighth in the rankings. The match will be played on October 8 at the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium, the players’ starting whistle will blow at 19:00 Moscow time.

Guillermo Abascal has been head of Spartak since the summer of 2022. Under his leadership, the red-whites won the bronze medal in the RPL last season.
