Three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming, Alexandra Patskevich, told subscribers on her Telegram channel that she fell ill during pregnancy.
“I caught some kind of wild disease. I’ve been in bed for a week! The pattern is the same: throat – runny nose – cough, but today my voice is lower. I am doing everything I can given my situation, but by now it is getting worse,” Patskevich wrote.
One of the athlete’s subscribers noted in his comment that the synchronized swimmer was often sick.
“For the second time in my entire pregnancy! “Yes, it may be an illness, it may be something that needs to be taken for a day or two, but not to the point of being sick,” he replied.
In addition to his three Olympic medals in 2012, 2016 and 2020, Patskevich has won the World Championships 13 times, winning his first gold medal in 2009 and finishing on the top step of the podium at the European Championships four times. He performed in duets, groups and combinations.
The synchronized swimmer completed his sports career in 2021. Patskevich began training to become a manager at VGIK.
