Honorary President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov believes that almost a full stadium will gather for the Russian national team’s match against Cameroon. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“Now we will play against Cameroon, this is the strongest team in Africa. Cameroonians frequently participate in World Championships. “I think that about 20 thousand people, almost the entire stadium, will gather in the first home game of the Russian national team in Moscow in two years,” Koloskov said.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations in the spring of 2022.
Since the beginning of the year, the Russian team has played four friendly matches with teams from Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). On September 12, the national team drew 1:1 with Qatar.
The Russian national team will play a friendly match against Cameroon at VTB Arena on October 12. Russians will face the Kenyan national team in Turkey on October 16.
