Hockey player Kovalchuk asked the coach of the Russian football team not to make concessions to his son 09:32

Vladimir Volchek, head coach of the Russian youth football team, spoke about the request of former Russian national hockey player Ilya Kovalchuk regarding his son. His words are quoted “Match TV”.

“The man trains according to the Brazilian system. Maybe he will bring us something new from what he collected there. Most importantly, he came here for the training camp with great pleasure, he has come a long way and is joining the team well.

Ilya demanded that no concessions be made to his son and that he train on equal terms with everyone else. It is important that Philip grows precisely because of his data,” said Volchek.

Philip Kovalchuk plays as a midfielder. In September 2023, he was called to the training camp of the Russian youth team for the first time. Kovalchuk’s son lives and studies in Brazil.

23 football players who will prepare for the UEFA Development Tournament were called to the training camp. The competition will take place in Minsk from October 3 to October 8. Teams from Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will play in these.

Previously Kovalchuk’s son named favorite football player.
