In a comment made by former CSKA football player Valery Masalitin to the portal “Euro-Football.Ru” He reacted to the statements of European federations to refuse to play with Russian youth teams.

“What should we do with them? They refuse, and for God’s sake, that means we won’t play with them. We must also refuse and say that the same British are not interesting to us. Time will pass, they will give us back, and then we will put forward our own conditions. Then they’ll start thinking about how to apologize to us.

Why do they threaten us and express their demands? Why should we agree with them? The British refused; We will play with the French and Germans, but we will not communicate with the same British, that’s all,” said Masalitin.

Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Ukraine, England, Latvia, Lithuania and Norway announced that they were boycotting the matches played with the Russian national team.

On September 26, the executive board of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) allowed Russian national teams consisting of junior players (under 17 years old) to participate in international tournaments. Men’s and women’s teams are expected to play their matches without flags and anthems. They will not take place on the territory of Russia.

In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

Previously in Ukraine in the name European federations will boycott matches with Russia.
