Tarasenko’s assist helps Ottawa beat Toronto 04:58

The National Hockey League (NHL) preseason match between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators ended at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The match ended in overtime with Ottawa winning with a score of 4:3.

Finnish Senators forward Robi Jarventi scored the goal in the second minute of the first period. Guest striker Dominik Kubalik then doubled his team’s lead. Midway through the first twenty minutes, Toronto forward Easton Cowan scored a goal. Moments later, Ottawa defenseman Jacob Chychrun scored the Senators’ third goal off a pass from Russian forward Vladimir Tarasenko, but then Maple Leafs forward Joseph Blandisi minimized the lead once again. Toronto forward Mitch Marner tied the score with six seconds left in the third period. In overtime, Chychran scored the winning goal.

The new NHL season starts on October 11. The current Stanley Cup champions are the Vegas Golden Knights.
