Rostov head coach Valery Karpin said that team player Viktor Melekhin lost consciousness after colliding with Rubin player Mirlind Daku in the Russian Premier League (RPL) Russian Cup match. His words are quoted press service “Rostov”.

The match played at Ak Bars Arena in Kazan ended with Rostov’s victory in the penalty shootout. Normal time ended with a score of 1:1. Rostov defender German Ignatov and Rubin midfielder Marat Apshatsev scored. Ignatov scored the decisive penalty.
Rostov leads the Russian Cup Group B standings with eight points. Rubin earned four points and sits at the bottom of the standings.
