Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé’s backup plan? Manchester City star Julián Álvarez is attracting interest from Spanish giants

After failing to sign Mbappé this summer, Real Madrid is strongly interested in signing a world champion with Argentina.

WHAT HAPPENED? It is expected that the Merengyes will finally be able to sign Mbappé next season when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires. However, according to the latest reports, Mbappé could sign a new contract that would allow him to leave PSG in 2024, but would have to pay a transfer fee.

While the Frenchman remains Real Madrid’s priority, the club has also picked up a number of backup options, including Macnehser City striker Julián Álvarez.

THE BIG PICTURE: The 23-year-old has started every match the club has played so far. In four Premier League appearances, Álvarez scored two goals and provided one assist.
