Former head coach of Lokomotiv and the Russian national team, Yuri Semin, expressed the opinion that striker Alexander Kokorin made the right decision by returning from Italian Fiorentina to Cypriot Aris. He shared his opinion with himself RBC.
“Kokorin made the right decision by returning to Aris. He did well in Cyprus last time. This is the right decision for both parties. He should not have stayed in Italy, he started the championship season again in the reserves. Of course, he does not always succeed, but he is a talented man and there were many in Italy. That means it can’t stand the competition,” said the expert.
Aris hired Kokorin on September 5th. Last summer, Fiorentina loaned the 32-year-old Russian football player to the Cyprus club for a year. The striker, who played in a total of 27 local championship games last season, scored 11 goals. Together with the team, he won the gold medal in the championship. He was also recognized as the best player of the tournament.
