American boxer Kevin Johnson has applied for Russian citizenship. This has been reported TASS.

In March, Kevin Johnson appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to obtain Russian citizenship. On August 15, the American received a license from the Russian Boxing Federation. Johnson changed his name in honor of Putin, taking the surname Vladimirovich.

The 43-year-old boxer has fought 59 fights in the professional ring during his career, winning 35 of them.

In April 2023, Johnson fought against the famous Russian fighter Vyacheslav Datsik. The fight, declared according to the rules, lasted for three rounds and ended with the victory of the 43-year-old American fighter, the judges awarded him the victory by a separate decision.
