Supreme Sports Council (CSD), through its president Victor Francosannounced a few days ago that the Government would initiate the necessary procedures to initiate the disqualification of RFEF head Luis Rubiales. That’s where the Sports Administrative Court (TAD) comes in, and this Friday it made a decision that its actions were serious and not so serious, paralyzing the government’s plans.

What is TAD?

The TAD or Sports Administrative Court is the result of the integration of those who have already disappeared. Spanish Sports Disciplinary Board (dedicated to the resolution of sanctions) and Election Guarantees Board (selection processes). These two organizations were combined into a single governing body, reviewing the functions and powers of the federative activity in matters of doping, sports discipline and ensuring the legality of the selection processes taking place in Spanish sports organisations. It acts independently of CSD. In addition, TAD is also in charge of processing and deciding on disciplinary files, ultimately administrative, upon the request of the Supreme Sports Council President or the Board of Directors.

Who is TAD?

The Sports Administrative Court consists of: seven members Law graduates The Supreme Sports Board is appointed by the Board of Directors. A president is elected with the help of a licensed secretary appointed by the CSD president. This organ explains that it should guarantee the balanced existence of men and women. Four of the seven members are acting on the proposal of the CSD president, and three are among those proposed by the Spanish sports federations. The term of office of its members is six years and they cannot be re-elected. However, renewal takes place partly every three years.
