Swedish tennis player Mikael Ymer announced on his X (formerly Twitter) page that he is ending his professional career.
Previously, the tennis player was banned for one and a half years for violating anti-doping rules. Missed three non-competitive tests in 12 months. The Swedish athlete challenged this decision in an independent arbitration and was acquitted, but the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended the tennis player for 18 months after the appeal.
“Hello guys! I’ve decided to quit professional tennis. Thanks everyone for the great memories! What an adventure it was! I wish all my colleagues success in the competition,” wrote Ymer.
Mikael Ymer, 24, was ranked 51st before his sentence, according to the ATP. Ymer is the winner of an ATP tournament in doubles and a finalist of a junior Grand Slam tournament in singles.
