Zenit’s former head coach, Vlastimil Petrzhela, told how much he earned at the club from the banks of the Neva. His words convey “RB Sport”.

“I worked at Zenit for about 4.5 years – I received 250 thousand euros for each calendar year. During my time in Russia I earned a little over one million three hundred thousand euros. I didn’t lose it all at the casino, as most people think. I’ve already spent all of that money on apartments and cars,” said Petrzhela.

Petrzhela ran Zenit from 2003 to 2006. Under his leadership, the team once became the silver medalist of the Russian Championship. The blue-white-blues won the Premier League Cup in 2003, beating Chornomorets.

Last season, Zenit won the Russian championship for the fourth time in a row. On July 15, in the Russian Super Cup match, the blue-white-blues defeated CSKA in a penalty shootout.
