The National Hockey League (NHL) has included Russian goalkeeper Yaroslav Askarov among the top 5 promising players of the Nashville Predators club. The goalkeeper took the second place in the ranking published in its history. Web site League.
“I think he’s had a great year for his first professional season. He’s got a great character, he’s very competitive, and he wants to win. He’s stable every night. He’s been really solid most of the year,” Nashville vice president Scott Nichol said.

1. Matthew Wood (forward, 18);
2. Yaroslav Askarov (goalkeeper, 21 years old);
3. Joachim Kemell (forward, 19 years old);
4. Luke Evangelista (forward, 21 years old);
5. Tanner Molendic (defender, 18 years old).
Nashville named the Russian goalkeeper with the 11th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. On May 3, 2022, Askarov signed a trial contract with Nashville ranch club Milwaukee Admirals until the end of the season and with the Predators team himself starting May 16.
Askarov made his NHL debut on January 13, 2023, when he entered the field in a regular season game against the Montreal Canadiens. The match ended in a 4-3 loss for Nashville. Askarov saved 31 of 35 shots to own goal in his first match.
