Honorary President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov believes that the words of coach Paulo Fonseca, who called on Portuguese clubs not to sell their players to Russia due to the events in Ukraine, should not be respected. Transmits words DEA News.
“His words should not be judged in any way. So who is a kind of coach for us? How many crazy people in the world put forward various attempts and bans related to Russian sport in general and football in particular? I would understand if the president of the Portuguese Football Federation spoke and said something like that. And this is a private person who tells nonsense. Not remarkable,” said Koloskov.
On July 23, the director of the Italian “Sassuolo” Giovanni Carnevali said that he did not sell the defender Rogerio to the Moscow “Spartak”, as the club did not want to deal with the Russians.
In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Association of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to exclude all Russian clubs, as well as the Russian national team, from all competitions controlled by these organizations.
