The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU) demanded the cancellation of the red card of the club’s player Wilmar Barrios. Petersburg rejected the appeal of “Zenith”. In this respect “Match TV” said Artur Grigoryants, chairman of the committee.
“Zenit lawyers Barrios himself attended the meeting via video link. Based on all the material of the cases and circumstances, the FTC has decided not to impose an additional disqualification on the player: Barrios has been suspended for a game,” Grigoryants said.
The Colombian player received a red card in the third week of the Russian Premier League (RPL) match against Dynamo Moscow. In the fourth stoppage of the second half, the referee of the match, Alexei Amelin, removed Barrios from the game after watching the video replay. The direct cause of the red card was a harsh intervention – he flew with both feet into the ankle of the Dynamo player Denis Makarov.
90+6 two minutes after Barrios was kicked out. Vyacheslav Grulev scored the winning goal for Dynamo in minutes. The match ended with a score of 3:2.
In the next round, RPL Zenit will host Voronezh Fakel. The meeting will be held on August 13.
