Berlin Chess Union President Paul Meyer-Dunker said that Arkady Dvorkovich should leave the presidency of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) due to his meeting with Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov. Spiegel.

Dvorkovich was re-elected president of the federation as part of the FIDE General Assembly held in Chennai, India, in August 2022. 157 delegates voted against 16.

Ukrainian Andrei Barishpolets, Belarusian Inalbek Sheripov and French representative Bahar Kuatlı also assumed the presidency, announcing that they withdrew their candidacy from the elections during the meeting.
