British tennis player Andy Murray admitted that the Wimbledon 2023 games could be interrupted by Just Stop Oil activists. His words were quoted by The Guardian.

“I think the probability of something happening is pretty high. I don’t know how many times someone ran onto the field while I was playing. Maybe it once was. More often I’m not sure. I can imagine something will happen. I agree with the reasons for (dissatisfaction) but disagree with how activists expressed their views about them. Maybe we should do something else instead of running to the field,” said the two-time Wimbledon champion.

Activists of the Just Stop Oil movement advocate stopping oil and gas production. In April, they disrupted the first round matches of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield by slathering orange powder on the table. The final of the British Rugby Championship, held in London in May, was interrupted.

Wimbledon 2023 will start on July 3 and run until July 16. Russians and Belarusians in the tournament are considered neutral. Russian and Belarusian tennis players were denied the right to participate in Wimbledon due to the CBO being held on Ukrainian soil in 2022.

The BBC website reported that athletes from these countries also had to provide proof of their refusal to sponsor companies that fell under British sanctions.
