Alexander Kogan, General Manager of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), commented solution The International Skating Union (ISU) will extend the Russians’ suspension for the Grand Prix stages of the 2023/24 season. Transmits words DEA News.

“The distribution of the athletes according to the Grand Prix stages is made according to the ISU rating. In case of getting permission from ISU, our skaters will be able to compete in Challengers and get rating points. Later, they can have the opportunity to take part in the Grand Prix stages.”

After the 2022 Olympics, Russian skaters cannot participate in international competitions due to penalties.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations, advising them not to allow domestic and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. Thus, the ISU excluded Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. In the 2022/23 season, they focused on local competitions (Russian Grand Prix and stages of the national championship).
