Marseille Sporting Director Javier Ribalta has reacted to rumors that the French team is interested in CSKA Moscow’s Russian striker Fedor Chalov. Ribalta’s words were conveyed by Sport24.
“We have no interest in Chalov,” Ribalta said.
On June 27, Le Petit OM wrote of Marseille’s interest in Chalov.
The 25-year-old striker has already played in the European Championship – in 2022 he played on loan for Swiss Basel, where he played 14 matches and scored four goals.
Chalov has been playing in the CSKA Moscow system since 2006. The striker for the main army team came as a substitute in the 76th minute against Enisey (1:2) in the 1/16th guest match of the Russian Cup on September 21, 2016. In the ending 2022/23 season, Chalov made 41 appearances, scored 24 goals and provided 6 assists for CSKA in all competitions. Chalov helped the army club win the silver medal in the Russian Premier League (RPL) and win the Russian Cup.
On July 15, CSKA hosted the Zenit St. Petersburg for the country’s Super Cup.
Previously, former CSKA player Denis Mashkarin commented on rumors that Chalov could continue his career at Galatasaray.
