At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee issued an appeal to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
At the meeting of the IOC Executive Committee on March 28, it was recommended that Russians who did not actively support the retention of the CBO be allowed to compete on a neutral status. At the same time, athletes representing law enforcement and armed forces such as CSKA and Dynamo sports societies will not be able to participate in the starts.
