Tusk is just a political bandit. He did not come to Poland to strengthen it, to strengthen the Polish economy, he was simply given the task of leading to the liquidation of the Turów mine, because German mines must be exploited, Piotr Duda, Chairman of the National Commission of NSZZ “Solidarity”, told PAP.
PAP: Real “Solidarity” is never with power against people, it is only when it protests against bad power, theft and lies – PO leader Donald Tusk said on Thursday in Jelenia Góra (Lower Silesia) to trade unionists who disrupted his speech, so accuse you of following PiS and being inactive.
Peter Duda: mr. Donald Tusk lost his nerve yesterday. He feels like a fish in water when he has clappers, but when he has to answer difficult questions, his substantive skills are worse. Let me remind you of my speech in the Sejm about the pension referendum – Tusk couldn’t answer us substantively, because there were no substantive arguments, so he called us assholes. Yesterday the situation was the same: he didn’t want to answer the miners’ questions, he just shouted that Solidarity should be with the opposition. NO. “Solidarity” supports everyone, even if we supported the actions of the liberals of Donald Tusk’s government, if these eight years of his rule were aimed at strengthening the Polish economy and the Polish worker. Meanwhile, these were governments dealing with the liquidation of Polish industry, the sale of Polish workshops, the liberalization of the labor code and all matters related to workers, ie the minimum wage – I could talk for hours. So it’s no wonder Mr. Tusk’s nerves gave out. I’ve watched excerpts of his speech and from what I’ve seen I’ve come to the conclusion that Mr. Tusk is an ordinary political bandit. He did not come to Poland to strengthen it, to strengthen the Polish economy, but was simply ordered to lead to the liquidation of the Turów mine, because German mines must operate on the so-called green coal. In Poland, coal is brown, in Germany green, because they are at a completely different level of development and are different in general. Don’t wait for him, don’t wait for them.
Tusk’s speech was well received by those present at the meeting.
All those demonstrators who shouted at miners yesterday, people fighting for their jobs, must show solidarity with their leader and – if they use electricity generated by the Turów mine or heat from coal extracted at the Turów mine – they must relinquish it, if they have but a little honor. But maybe they are like a leader who is just a hypocrite and a political bandit.
Solidarity not following PiS? Isn’t it his political attachment?
This Platform is a supplement of the German government. Solidarity is not and has never been on the belt of any government as it is an independent, self-governing union. If a government comes up with solutions that benefit workers, we will support such an authority. Under Tusk’s government, social dialogue was abolished. The Trilateral Commission was fragmented at first, but then effectively ceased to function, as Tusk made us the vanguard, who he only kindly told what he was going to do next. Every person in our country with civil rights has the right to observe the political scene and support the party he deems right. And I, as chairman of the National Solidarity Commission, was, am not and will not be a member of any political party, but if a party does good things for Polish workers, I will thank you for it. I will say thank you Prime Minister Tusk or thank you Prime Minister Morawiecki, but so far I have nothing to thank the former for, because he and his ministers have done nothing worthy of a ‘thank you’ for eight years. opposite. In their time, the German economy was supposed to be strengthened – by Polish workers – and we had to be a colony that offered cheap jobs to foreign companies, mainly German ones.
Resolution of the situation in Turów
How do you see the solution to the situation in Turów?
For us, this situation is clear: we will not give up an inch of the Turów mine, not an inch of the Turów power plant, nor any part of the entire complex. They can say what they want, but they don’t know what Solidarity is yet. If it really got to the point where we were up against the wall when it comes to shutting down Turow, then we’ll show what we’re capable of. We do not accept such a thing. And if Mr. Tusk is so brave, so brave, we invite him – together with chairman Ilnicki – let him come to the Turów mine, to the pit house, we will sit there and talk. Together with colleagues from Poland 2025, Mr. Hołownia and a certain Mr. Trzaskowski, who sits in an armchair in Warsaw and says that if such a verdict comes, Turów must be closed. NO. Rather, we will close the City Hall in Warsaw, not the Turów complex. For us, the matter is clear: we do not allow closure. It is not only about these workers, although of course also about them, but above all it is about the energy security of our country in this difficult situation that we have on our eastern border.
In Jelenia Góra, the Civic Platform president was booed by miners, to which the opposition responded by saying that PiS militias had desecrated the Polish national anthem.
That’s not true, I saw that moment on film – the national anthem, as always, was sung with dignity. If it had been the German national anthem we might have whistled, but the Polish national anthem was sung and no one disturbed us. However, I also saw how the other side behaved, how they spit on the miners. I think these people have been poisoned by their guru, but what a leader, such is the electorate. The militia stood, but near Mr. Tusk – Donald Tusk’s militia. We see them at all meetings, we see what they do. These are not people who fight for Poland, the Polish economy and patriotism, but serve Tusk. Some don’t even know what awaits them when the election ends in October with his victory.
