Former Russian national team player Dmitry Bulykin commented on the incident with Italian Fiorentina player Cristiano Biraghi in the Conference League final match with England’s West Ham.
“I think the match would have been stopped if there was a threat to the health of the players. Biraghi acted like a man, went right around the corner and there were no more such incidents,” Bulykin said.
On 7 June, Fiorentina lost to the English team with a score of 1:2 in the final. The match was interrupted for a few minutes due to Biraghi’s head being cut off after being hit by an object thrown from the stands in the first half.
Among the winners, Mohamed Saeed Benrahma (62 minutes) and Jarrod Bowen (90 minutes) scored. Violets have a goal for Giacomo Bonaventure (67th).
