Napoli fans returned the steering wheel of a stolen car to coach Luciano Spalletti in honor of the specialist’s departure from the team.
In October 2021, Spalletti’s Fiat Panda was stolen. This was done by fans who were angry at the team’s results and the coach’s work. They left a note at the scene: “Spalletti, when you’re gone, we’ll give you back your Panda.”
He was then sent a ransom demanding message, but then Spalletti said he wanted to first check the car’s condition, mileage and whether artist Pino Daniele’s discs were still inside.
At the farewell ceremony of the specialist, who decided to quit his job as head coach of Napoli, the fans gave him a large box containing the steering wheel of his car and Daniele’s wheels.
On May 29, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis announced that Spalletti is leaving his position as head coach at the end of the 2022/23 season.
According to the club president, the 64-year-old expert explained to the club owner that he wanted to take a leave as he had exhausted his resources to work in the new season.
