The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will hold an emergency meeting due to the statement from the International Boxing Federation (IBA). It has been reported Inside the Game.
According to the source, the IBA has released a report in which it says it has met the conditions for the suspension to be lifted and is ready to return to holding Olympic boxing competitions in 2024.
The preliminary meeting to discuss this issue was planned to be held on 20-22 June. The IOC Executive Board meeting will be held on 7 June in a remote format.
Recall that IBA was disqualified in 2019 due to managerial, financial and ethical issues. The boxing tournament at the 2020 Olympic Games was organized by the IOC itself.
