Boris Ignatiev, the former coach of the Russian national team, talked about the top scorers of the season, which ended in the Russian Premier League (RPL), in an interview with a socialbites.ca correspondent.

According to him, Samara’s Wings of the Sovets and Orenburg did the best out of the tournament’s leaders.

“Wings of the Soviets”, everything has been brought to a good level, except for the sports part about the result. In my opinion, this is one of the best RPL teams in terms of level of play along with Orenburg, apart from the traditional leaders.

The Samarans played a meaningful game all season, but they obviously failed to score. They lacked masters who could do the least, but also the most necessary, to score.

They always showed their football, their face, the face of the team, hence this result – beating Spartak, they retained their place in the Premier League, ”Ignatiev told socialbites.ca.

Recall that the Orenburg team took the last seventh place in the standings, repeating its best result in history.

Krylia finished the season in 12th place, exiting the play-off zone thanks to a win against Spartak in the final round.

Former Boris Ignatiev announced Zenit’s leadership in RPL by competent election.
