Promes State Duma deputy: We do not grant citizenship to people with criminal records 31.05.2023, 23:51

State Duma Deputy Irina Rodnina commented on the accusations of Spartak’s striker Quincy Promes regarding drug trafficking. Transmits words Meta ratings.

“We must wait for the court’s decision first, and then the next steps will be taken. If this person acquires Russian citizenship, responsibility will belong to Spartak. But that’s just speculation so far. We do not grant citizenship to people with criminal records,” he said.

Quincy Promes has scored 25 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions for Spartak this season.

On May 30, the Dutch prosecutor’s office accused the football player of involvement in drug trafficking. It has been reported that we are talking about two shipments of cocaine seized in Antwerp in 2020. In one it is 720 kg, in the other – 650 kg.

In another criminal case, Promes is accused of stabbing his cousin in the summer of 2020. According to media reports, the hearing of both cases will be held in Amsterdam on 5 June.
