Djokovic named best tennis player in the world

Serbian Novak Djokovic, the world’s first racket, was named the best tennis player in the world.

Djokovic chose Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaras. “Best player in the world according to his results so far. Everything about his game is impressive,” says the 20-time Grand Slam champion AFP.

The Serb noted that the Spaniard is a general who can play equally well in both offense and defence.

On May 8, 19-year-old Alcaraz became the winner of the Masters in Madrid, beating Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (6:3, 6:1) within one hour of the final. Alcaraz is ranked sixth in the updated rating of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

The Spaniard became the youngest player in the ATP tour era (since 1990) to beat three of the top five tennis players (Serbian Novak Djokovic, Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev) in the same tournament.

Shamil Tarpishchev, former president of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) named Carlos Alcaraz is the new superstar of the tennis world.
