Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek, the world’s first racket, had to withdraw from the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 tournament held in Rome, Italy.

Sventek withdrew from the competition in the quarter-final match against Elena Rybakina, representing Kazakhstan. In the second set, the Polish woman took a medical timeout and then returned to the field with a bandage on her right hip. Sventek, who ranked first in the WTA ranking with a score of 2:2 in the third set, decided to give up the fight and withdraw from the competition.

In the semi-finals of the tournament in Rome, Rybakina will play with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. Russian Veronika Kudermetova and Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina will fight for the second ticket to the final.

In the quarterfinals, the world’s 12th racket, Kudermetova, defeated the Chinese representative Zheng Qinwen in sets of 3:6, 6:3, 6:4.

The duration of the interview was 2 hours 31 minutes.

Kudermetova has taken the field 11 times, making two double mistakes and converting four of her seven breakouts.
