Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova believes that the International Skating Union (ISU) will independently decide on the admission of Russians to international tournaments.

“I think the ISU will not trust anyone’s opinion and this letter will not affect the decision in any way. I still believe that our athletes will be allowed to compete,” said Tarasova and continued her words as follows: TASS.

Recall that the Ukrainian figure skaters appealed to the ISU with a request to ban the Russians from participating in international competitions until the end of the SVO.

After the 2022 Olympics, Russian skaters cannot participate in international competitions due to penalties.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a call to international sports federations, advising them not to allow domestic and Belarusian athletes to participate in any competitions. For this reason, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. In the 2022/23 season, they focused on local competitions (Russian Grand Prix and stages of the national championship).
