The press service of the First Division made an ironic comment about the departure of the Moscow “Torpedo” from the Russian Premier League (RPL).
Losing 0:3 to CSKA in the 27th week of the Russian Championship, the Black and Whites lost their chance to get a residence permit for the next season in the RPL.
“Welcome back to the best black and white league in the world!” – written in the message.
Torpedo won the Major League last season and returned to the RPL seven years later. However, the Moscow club could not stay in the elite league. During the season the team changed head coach four times, now the club is led by Spaniard Josep Clotet.
CSKA took second place in the Russian championship standings, collecting 54 points. Zenit became the champion of Russia. Petersburg team won the championship in the 26th week match of the RPL.
In the remaining rounds, Torpedo will play against Dynamo Moscow, Orenburg and Lokomotiv Moscow. The army team will meet with Spartak Moscow, Krasnodar and Rostov.
Former former player of Spartak Evgeny Lovchev criticized Referee Yevgeny Kukulyak after the match between Khimki and red and white in RPL.
