The Toronto Maple Leafs hosted the Florida Panthers in Game 5 of the National Hockey League (NHL) Quarterfinals Playoff Series today. The match ended with the victory of the visiting team with a score of 3:2 (OT).
The score was opened in the 4th minute of the match. Aaron Ekblad saved the puck while his team was in the majority. It didn’t take long for the second disc to arrive, either. With the puck dropped by Carter Verage in the 13th minute, the visiting team increased their advantage.
In the second period, the home team managed to get back a goal. Morgan Reilly was excellent. Five minutes before the end of the meeting, William Nylander equalized.
Nick Cousins ended overtime and brought his team the win.
Thus, after five games, the score in the series was 4:1 in favor of Florida. Paul Maurice’s team became the second semi-finalist of the tournament. Previously, Carolina had already secured access to this stage. Wards Rod Brindamore defeated the New Jersey Devils in overtime in Game 5 of the semifinals series.
Two more semi-finalists will be determined for the Dallas-Seattle and Edmonton-Vegas doubles.
