The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Court of Appeals accepted the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) objection to the suspension of membership of the organization for technical reasons. This has been reported official website of the organization.

In a statement from the organization, “The Court of Appeal of the TMK accepted the objection of the RPC and affirmed that the General Assembly’s decision to suspend the RPC’s membership of the IPC was overturned.”

Recall that in November it was learned that the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) at the IPC was suspended.

RPC has been deprived of all the rights of an IPC member except the right to appeal this decision. However, only the General Assembly can overturn this decision.

The IPC removed the RPC’s membership in the organization in August 2016, before the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. RPC was conditionally reinstated in March 2019.

Russian Paralympic athletes could not attend the Paralympic Games held in Beijing this year.

It was previously reported that The Executive Board of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) will consider the return of Russian gymnasts in July.
