Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola compared the playing qualities of his team’s striker Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi.
“No one can be compared to Messi, and such comparisons do not help Erling, but in terms of goals and mentality yes. Messi has been like this every season for 10-15 years, but in terms of goals scored Haaland is on the same level.
He scores goals in almost every match.
I hope Erling can get as close to Messi as possible. “It will be great for him and for us,” said Guardiola. ESPN.
In the current season of the English Premier League (RPL), Haaland has made 30 appearances, scored 34 goals and provided seven assists. He scored 12 more goals and provided one assist in eight Champions League games.
Lionel Messi has scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in 27 games in the French championship this season. His most productive season was 2011/12, when he scored 50 goals in 37 matches in Spanish La Liga.
