Striker “City” Haaland sets new performance record for Premier League players

Norwegian striker Manchester City Erling Haaland scored a goal against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League 1/4 final (3-0). For the 22-year-old striker, this goal was 45th in all tournaments this season.

Haaland broke the all-game single season goal record for a player in the English Premier League (EPL). The previous record (44 goals) was held by Liverpool’s Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah (2017/18 season) and Dutch former Manchester United football player Ruud van Nistelrooy (2002/03).

In the parallel match of the 1/4 finals of the Champions League on 11 April, Inter Milan came out stronger than Lisbon Benfica (2: 0).

Two more quarter-finals will be played on Wednesday, April 12: Real Madrid will host Chelsea at home and Milan will face Napoli at home. Both matches will start at 22:00 Moscow time.
