Club of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) “Siberia” announced the end of cooperation with head coach Andrey Martemyanov, reports official site Teams from Novosibirsk.

The contract with the specialist expires on April 30. Martemyanov headed Sibir for two years. In each of the two seasons, the Siberians finished sixth in the Eastern Conference by regular season results, and were subsequently eliminated from the Gagarin Cup in the first round.

The decision not to renew, commented, “Modern trends in the development of hockey, the reduction of the legionnaire limit and the severe shortage of Russian players in the market will require us to change the development strategy and approach to the formation of the team.” The contract was signed with Martemyanov, the general director of Sibir Kirill Fastovsky.

The media previously reported that Martemyanov will continue his career in the Khabarovsk “Amur”, where he previously worked. He also served as head coach at Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg.

Formerly Continental Hockey League (KHL) Dynamo (Minsk) club had an agreement With Dmitry Kvartalnov, the specialist will be the head coach of the Belarusian team.
