The Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, commented on the decision of the organizers of Wimbledon to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to participate in the tournament with neutral status.

Kuleba described the participation of representatives of these countries in the tournament as immoral. He also urged the UK authorities to refuse to issue visas to players from Russia and Belarus.

Tennis Majors has announced that tennis players will be banned from supporting a special military operation. In addition, arenas will have zero tolerance for any symbols and flags that support these countries by both athletes and fans. It has also been announced that tennis players who receive government support will not be able to participate in the tournament.

In the spring of 2022, Russian tennis players were denied participation in tournaments in the UK. In other competitions of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), Russians play in a neutral status.
