38% of Russians did not understand the principles of the digital ruble on the eve of its launch by the Central Bank of Russia

More than a third (38%) of Russians do not understand the working principles and the purpose of a new national currency, the digital ruble. In this respect Wrote TASS refers to the results of a survey conducted by analysts of the financial market Vyberu.ru.

28% of respondents said they do not want to use the digital ruble because they do not trust the new financial instrument.

According to survey data, only 34% of respondents are ready to use digital rubles. Of these, 14% are confident that they will start using the new asset actively, while 20% are ready to use it if necessary – for example, while receiving social assistance.

Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, in the second half of September said about the regulator’s plans to start testing the digital ruble with real customers from April 1, 2023.

This week, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov declarationthat the introduction of the digital ruble can be completed in 2023 and the authorities are already starting to deal with the issue of transactions on traditional platforms.
