Vazquez was born in Chula Vista, California, but of Mexican parents, making him eligible for the Tri. Although he grew up in the lower ranks of the United States national team, he has yet to receive a call-up to the Stars and Stripes combined Major.
The 23-year-old striker trained in the Xoloitzcuintes de Tijuana, although he then moved to the United States where he played in the United Soccer League (Second Division) and Major League Soccer.
