Kuznetsov asks Washington to leave the club for two years

Russian forward “Washington Capitals” Evgeny Kuznetsov wants to leave the club voluntarily. It has been reported “Match TV”.

Kuznetsov has been asking the Capitals for a swap through his agent for the second year. Previously, the capital club was not ready for this. The media reported that the Russian player may be replaced with one of the clubs in the National Hockey League (NHL) out of this season.

Kuznetsov’s contract with Washington Capitals, with an average seasonal salary of $7.8 million, runs until 2025.

Kuznetsov has been playing for the Capitals since 2014, before that he only played for Traktor Chelyabinsk.

In the current NHL season, Kuznetsov has 12 goals and 40 assists in 72 games. The Russian player is the team’s second most successful player this season, after Aleksandr Ovechkin.

It is worth noting that in winter another Russian left the team – defender Dmitry Orlov. Traded to Boston.

After 73 games, Washington Capitals is in 10th place with 76 points.
